CHARLIE Sheen is giving $US12,000 ($11,348) to the family of the photographer who died while snapping Justin Bieber.
The generous actor is allegedly quite tight with a former photographer who was friends with the paparazzo, 29-year-old Chris Guerra, according to TMZ.
Guerra died after being struck by a car in Los Angeles on New Year's Day while taking pictures of Bieber's car.
Upon learning that Guerra's family was trying to raise money to cover the costs of the funeral, Sheen grabbed his chequebook and donated some cash to the family.
In a statement to TMZ, the actor said: "A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject. It's an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future.
"As parents, we are all not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved."
In December last year Sheen donated $US75,000 ($71,000) to a fund for a 10-year-old girl fighting cancer. The actor also allegedly gave struggling actress Lindsay Lohan $US100,000 ($95,000) to help with her financial problems.
